On Thursday, November 21st, the Kelly Seniors Center will be hosting a four hour intensive training on Suicide Prevention.  The program is offered through Friendship Circle and is open to the public.  There is no fee for the program, but a freewill donation would be appreciated to help cover the costs associated with the program.

Please check with SaDonna Antonia for anything you wish to donate to find out if it would be something that she could use. (WSHS) WISCONSIN SLOVAK HISTORICAL SOCIETY - OPEN HOUSE
There will be an Open House and St. Nicholas Party at the Wisconsin Slovak
Historical Society located at 3702 E. Layton Avenue, Cudahy on Sunday, 
December 1, from 1-4pm.  Take time to stop in and see the Museum and learn about the Slovak Heritage. 

LUTHERAN HAVEN “CHRISTMAS SEALS”
The Lutheran Haven is the retirement community in Orlano Florida, owned and operated by the SELC District. Originally, a place offered as a “Haven” for retired Pastors and their wives, who in the 1920’s - 1950’s, earned very little and did not pay into Social Security. Today, any gifts to the Lutheran Haven is still offered in “grants” to Lutheran Clergy spouses or who face financial challenges. Envelopes to support Lutheran Haven can be found in the Narthex.


WORSHIP ANEW
Worship Anew is a 501c3 organization and an RSO of the LCMS. It engages and equips adults as they get older with resources to live a full and abundant life in Jesus Christ. Their Broadcaster Magazine is a free monthly publication that covers topics that adults face daily and provides encouragement in hard times. They are excited to announce that Worship Anew is available on WVTV 24 (MyTV) out of Milwaukee broadcasting at 7:30am on Sunday mornings. You can learn more at WorshipAnew.org.

2025 YOUTH GATHERING
Applications are being taken for young adults who are interested in being a volunteer at the “2025 Youth Gathering” in New Orleans, LA. The Gathering will be held from July 19-23, 2025. LCEF ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES!

The Thrift Store urgently needs volunteers on Fridays and  Saturdays at their W. Burleigh St. location.  All proceeds from  the Economy Center Thrift Store support the mission of the LCFS. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Are you willing to help?  We are in need of Ushers to help at funeral services that are held at St. John.  The duties to be performed can be easily explained, and walked through with you.  If you are interested, please contact the Church Office.  
We also need someone to go through the church pews, making sure that the pencils are sharp, the prayer & attendance cards are available, etc.  Please contact CynDee in the Church office if you are willing to help with this.


A PLACE OF REFUGE (APOR) For Pregnant Women & Preborn Children Refuge House is a safe place that provides a loving, nurturing environment for women and their preborn children.  Refuge House encourages women to make positive changes in their lives that will offer opportunity, direction and hope for their futures.  APOR seeks to contribute to the mental, physical and spiritual growth of women facing an unplanned pregnancy.  APOR  has been sharing God's love since 1993, one mother at a time.  Check the display in the Fellowship Hall for ways you can share with and support APOR.  Playpen for donations is located in the Narthex.


CUDAHY/ST. FRANCIS INTERFAITH PROGRAM
The Cudahy/St. Francis Interfaith Program for Older Adults (CSFI) is looking for older adults that want to help and/or connect with other older adults, or if any older adult needs help with things around the house.  People can sign up for our companionship call/visit programs if they would like calls or visits periodically, or if they would like to make calls or visits to other older adults.  Please contact Pat Mull at Cudahy/St. Francis Interfaith program at 414-483-4474 for more information.

LCFS
Are you wondering what LCFS is, and what they do?  LFCS is Lutheran Counseling & Family Services of Wisconsin. They work year-round to assist those struggling with mental health and addiction.  In addition, they work diligently to bring families together through their adoption program, help to heal relationships and improve family dynamics, give hope to those suffering from trauma. And to meet a strong, growing need in our community, they continue to expand mental health services to children through our inschool counseling program and through expanding our in-clinic child therapy services.  We give thanks for all the healing that they provide.

ARE YOU UP TO DATE?
Have you gone to the St John Website, (www.stjohncudahy.org) and signed into the St. John member login? (on the bottom left of home page).  Even if you have never set up an account, this is the time to do it!  Sign in, go to the home tab, my profile, and make sure the info St. John has is up to date.  Many people have gotten rid of their land lines and now only have a cell phone, or have a new email address, or even moved and haven’t told us!  You can even see where you are with your giving for the year.  We want to be sure to stay in touch, so please check out the web page, and then make sure we have your current info.


WANT TO BE INVOLVED AT ST. JOHN?
There are many ways you can get involved.  Volunteer as an Usher, Altar Guild, Serve Coffee, Handyman jobs, Weeding the flower beds, Vacuuming, join a group or board and the list goes on.  (Especially needed: Altar Guild and Ushers!)  Please call the Church Office (414-481-0520) if you can to help.
